BNS Afterschool Program 2011 - 2012

The Brooklyn New School After-School Program is happy to welcome your children to another year of educational enrichment and fun during after school hours. Prekindergarten thru fifth grade students welcome! Workshops are seasonal and open to all BNS students (discounts for registered “after-school” students) and fall packets will be sent home soon. Scholarships: based on financial need, through teacher nomination only.

We will continue to offer:

*Unlimited Use pay options (and discounts)
*More organized art, gardening, tutoring, and fitness activities at no additional cost
*More discounts for workshops if registered for regular “after-school” program.

The After-School Program is a self-sustaining PTA entity. We do not receive funding from outside sources and must run our program based on tuition fees paid by supporting parents. Therefore, we ask that you pay for all services in advance. Your child will not be admitted unless outstanding tuition fees (including prior years) have been paid.

TYPICAL SCHEDULE FOR REGULAR PROGRAM: M-F
Mon & Fri begins at 2:40pm; T, W, Th begins at 3:20pm
2:40/3:20 - 4:25 Outdoor recreational play in school yard and Workshops (fall, winter, spring)
4:30 - 4:50 Snack/half-time children depart
4:50 - 5:30 Homework time/art and table activities and/or gym play
5:45* Pick up/full-time children depart
*Late charges will apply after 6:00pm : $15 per 10 minutes late. Please be on time!

Payment and Use Plans
Pay in advance for Unlimited Use ($13 per full day, save $4!) or monthly for Per Use ($17 per full day) to utilize the daily After-School program. You decide!
Averages about $5/hour for unlimited use and $6.50/hour for per use, more reasonable than babysitter costs. Based on 180 DOE school days.
Discounts: siblings - 25% off for two children, 30% off for three children. Registered “after-school” students and unlimited students receive workshop discounts as well (workshops are open to all BNS students)


Unlimited Use plan
Instead of paying monthly per use (below), pay in advance and save! Your children may enjoy unlimited days and hours in After-School any day and time. Students may go to the regular After-School program when needed without worrying about half-time or full-time pick-up costs for that afternoon. You also receive bigger discounts for workshops and half-day programs. Parents must prepay for the Unlimited Use option. Unlimited plans do not allow for roll-over credit or reimbursements.
Yearly (~$13/day, Discount!) $2,300 * Pay up to four installments (or less) of $575 due by: 10/1, 12/1, 2/1, 4/1

Per Use plan
You may choose to pay the traditional monthly plan based on per usage of the After-School program (day and time). Estimate your monthly use based on the number of days needed per week. Prior to each new month, enclose a check for the estimated monthly amount. We will credit your monthly account for days not used. You will receive a bill for the due amount. A late fee of 10% will be charged if payments become delinquent.

**STUDENTS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND ANY AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS IF PAST YEAR PAYMENTS HAVE NOT BEEN RECEIVED & IF PAYMENTS ARE MORE THAN 2 MONTHS PAST DUE DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR.**

CHILDREN MUST BE REGISTERED (FORMS AND FIRST PAYMENTS) BY MONDAY, SEPT. 12, 2011, but parents can also register and send children at any time during the year.
