Greetings from the Brooklyn New School.

As our 20th Anniversary approaches, we have begun to reflect on how far we've come since 1987.

We now have pre-kindergarten classes. Parents, teachers and community members helped create our sister school, Brooklyn Secondary School for Collaborative Studies. We have two principals. At Brooklyn New School, we have 530 students up from 150 in 1987. Across both schools we are a community of 1000 of families, with a teaching staff of over 100.

Our parents established not-for-profit fundraising foundation, Friends of BNS/BCS, to support our schools.

Our alumni are parents, teachers, staff and students who have been touched by the impact Brooklyn New School has had on them. Especially, they are our founders and supporters who imagined a different learning community for children and adults where curiosity is honored, and diversity is celebrated.
Our growth in the past 20 years affirms their vision and we are calling on you, our extended family, to help us re-connect and celebrate!

Registering as a Brooklyn New School Alumni provides opportunities to:

~         Network with alumni from different generations, reestablish old friendships.

~         Reconnect to BNS staff

~         Attend and assist BNS Alumni sponsored events

~         Volunteer in our school

~         Donate money to support our Arts and Environment Education programs and other special activities
